Morning depart from hotel for exciting and scenic drive towards Nepal Mid-East offers snow capped mountain views, as journey heads past farm villages and towns on to reach at Gongar within Dolkha district.
Drive on winding road leaving main highway as our route heads direct north with views of Gaurishankar Himal from Charikot town, and then enter low warm farms areas at Gongar, a small village located close to Nepal and Tibet border by the Tama Kosi River.
Overnight at Gogar village either camp or in simple lodge on first day of the journey.
From Gogar morning cross a bridge over Tama Kosi River, in a narrow gorge to reach at Chetchet overlooking wonderful waterfall, here onward walk leads into cooler hills on leaving rice paddy fields.
Climb towards cooler alpine area and then on gradual path, with last climb of the day to reach at Simigaon village, populated by Sherpa of Rolwaling area a nice farm village yielding corns, potatoes, wheat’s, barley and millets, afternoon free at leisure and visit the old monastery with stunning views of the Mt. Gaurishankar and Melung-Tse peak.
Start walk heading North East with climb through terraced farm fields and then into serene rhododendron, oaks, magnolia, and pine forest past several pasture area, walk continues above a hill side and then downhill to a river reaching at small place Gyalche, and then an hour of pleasant walk to our overnight camp at Dovan located by the river, a small settlement in the middle of a forest with few houses.
Morning cross Rolwaling khola (stream) then climb into alpine forest, as path winds up to reach a small place Nyimare and Ramding a farm area with cattle herder temporary settlements.
Walk continues with climb to reach at Beding village for overnight camp, Beding village home of large Sherpa community as well the last village within Rolwaling Valley, located in a narrow gorge valley with an old monastery on top of the village, with primary school supported by Hillary foundation.
At Beding rest day for acclimatization before heading higher destinations and towards Everest via high Tashi Labtsa-La pass.
Beding village with several options for short hike tour around village and to some high scenic hills for best views of Mt. Gaurishankar and Melung Tse (Jobo Garee).
From Beding walk towards end of the around beautiful Rolwaling valley beneath towering Mt. Gaurishankar 7,145 m and Melung Tse ( Jobo Garee) peaks 7,181 m, on leaving Beding.
Walk leads on gradual up with grand views of peaks includes Ramdung go 5,930 m, Chukyima go 6,259 m, Tabayabyum 5,558 m, and Yalung ri 5,630 m.
Journey enters a wide glacial valley within wall of surrounding mountains, after a scenic pleasant walk reach Na Gaon, a temporary place of Yak and cattle herders a wide summer pasture, beside cattle grazing also yields potato, wheat’s and barley, after lunch afternoon free to relax, or take a short walk.
After a nice acclimatization day at Na Gaon adventure continues, morning walk leads to the end of Rolwaling Valley, crossing an icy stream and then towards Sangma a yak grazing pasture area.
From here cross a wooden bridge where route leads to a steep climb over moraine and streams to reach near a dam of Tsho Rolpa.
The lake also called Tsho / Cho Pokhari, camp is set on a sandy field on southern shore of Tsho Rolpa at Kabuk facing views of Tsoboje 6,689 m and Dragker- Go 6,793 meters.
From the camp towards our main adventure to camp beneath high Tashi Labtsa-La Pass as walk continues within mountain surrounding can hear sound of ice crackling.
Morning walk leads to a climb above moraine on northern side of Tsho Rolpo, as our route heads above glacier at the centre of rocky glacier to set our camp just beneath of Drolambu icefall and Tashi-Labtsa-La.
Our guide will survey the area for best possible route to traverse over Tashi Laptsa-La, as the path can be misleading sometimes due to movement of glacier with rock falls that changes the path each season.
Our major highlight of the adventure as climb starts early morning leading over glacier section for an hour, and then to a spur to reach upper glacier from here onward ropes will be fixed with steps-ledge to make it easier to reach the top of the pass.
The climb on top of the pass is not difficult except in much snow conditions but one need to be careful avoiding some fatal accidents loose falling rocks might occur in this high mountain sections.
Taking nearly more than four hour of strenuous climb to reach the top of Tashi Labtsa-La at 5,755 m, with views of surrounding peaks close views of Pachermo peak above 6,273 m high.
From here head north towards Teng Ragi Tau and on top of Tashi Labtsa-La festooned with Buddhist prayer flags and cairns, after a refreshing stop a long descend to Khumbu and Everest region with overnight stop at Tengpo, a small summer pasture area on route Thame and Namche Bazaar.
After long day walk and adventure of previous day, where today onward will be much easier heading on gradual well maintained path to Thame, as walk leads back into villages after being in complete isolation for several days, walk gets better as our route leads to Thame village for overnight stop in the comfort of nice cozy lodge.
Thame village is also a home of famous late Tenzing Norgay Sherpa (The first person to reach on top of Mt. Everest with Hillary), afternoon visit Thame Gompa the oldest monastery of Khumbu region.
With nice and pleasant overnight at Thame, walk leads to Namche Bazaar the gateway to Everest Base Camp and to other adventure around high Khumbu, morning walk down to a small bridge then with short climb leads to pleasant walk to reach Thamo village and back into green vegetation and tree lines.
Walk into rhododendron, oaks and pines woodland with few ups and down to reach at Namche Bazaar for overnight stop in the comfort of nice lodges.
Namche the main hub of Khumbu Sherpa one of the largest prosperous trading town and a village offers wide range of facilities from ATM, Cyber cafes, stores, shops, restaurants, banks to fresh bakery where colorful market takes place every Saturday.
Morning free for optional walk on top Namche Hill around its interesting museum overlooking panorama of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Taboche, Amadablam, Kangtega, Tharmasarkhu and Kongde peaks, interesting tour of the museum.
After a nice pleasant moment having lunch at Namche then continues walk downhill to Dudh-Kosi River with overnight stop at Monjo village, close to Sagarmatha National Park entrance point.
Morning another long day walk to Lukla but enjoyable on downhill to reach Dudh Kosi river valley and then at Monjo past Sagarmatha National Park entrance and exit point.
Our last day trek of the wonderful journey continues on gradual winding path to Phakding and towards Lukla after last final climb for an hour, on reaching Lukla check into a nice hotel / lodge with free afternoon to immerse into local Sherpa culture with surrounding mountain views.
From Lukla take an early morning flight to Kathmandu with fantastic panorama of mountains during 35 minutes flights, on reaching Kathmandu domestic airport and then transfer with a drive back to your hotel, with free afternoon for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.
We reserve this day as contingency or spare day in case of flight delay and cancellation in Lukla due to bad and unfavorable weather, which can occur sometimes as Himalayan weather are unpredictable, if all goes well according to our itinerary days one can have a leisure day or book for another sightseeing tour of Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur.
Your last final day in Nepal the country of Himalayan wonders, as per your flight time depart from the hotel, where our guides and staff transfer you for International departure homeward bound or to respective countries.
