Everest Base Camp

For those who would like to get a glimpse of the world’s tallest mountain: Mt. Everest, is the trek to Everest Base Camp, the most popular and most achievable one.

First you will fly in 40 minutes, with a domestic flight, from Kathmandu to Lukla. Lukla is the starting point of our trek to Everest base Camp.

This trek will lead you through alpine forests, through villages, along the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers all the way to Namche Bazaar (3438m). This hilly settlement is shaped like a horse shoe and positioned in a very unconventional location. It is the first acclimatization point in our trek, on this day we will visit the Khumjung village and school.

One of the highlights of trek to Everest Base Camp is the visit to Tengboche Monastery. During the earthquake of 2015 the monastery was unfortunately terribly damaged, but the view points from here are still breathtaking. From here you will be able to see a panoramic view of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku.

The toughest part of this trek is the trek from Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp and back in 6-7 hours you will walk over a rocky ground. Apart from Everest Base Camp itself there is a spectacular close up view of Mt. Everest from the highest point of the trek Kalapatthar. From here you will also be able to see Ama Dablam and Mount Pumori.
