Annapurna Circuit trekking continues heading higher to reach wonderful traditional villages of Jagat-Tal-Dharapani and Chame town heading towards high and scenic Manang valley after walking past Pisang village.

Entering into Manang valley enclosed by series of peaks with Chulus and Pisang peaks towards the north with Annapurna range in the south direction where tree lines slowly fade to alpine shrubs and bushes of Burberry and junipers.

Explore the interesting village of Manang and visit Braga Monastery of great interest interwoven with Buddhism religion and culture, with time at Manang for acclimatization and excursion to its view points, where walks leads you further north west towards high Thorang-la pass. The country landscapes and climate changes heading into arctic zone of ice and glaciers with a barren and arid area as walk climbs to high Thorang-la pass the highest spot of the adventure offers a spectacular panorama of surrounding terrain and mountains.

From the pass a long downhill to reach within Mustang region at holy Muktinath temple premises with grand views of Dhaulagiri mountain range, Muktinath one of the holiest spot for Hindu and Buddhist where pilgrims from all Nepal and India visit this sacred spot at Muktinath for worship in the temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. After an enjoyable and adventurous time traversing over Thorang-la journey heads downhill to scenic Kaligandaki River valley heading past Jomsom town to reach warmer areas at Tatopani, a nice village with refreshing natural hot-spring and the walk carries uphill back into cooler hills at Ghorepani.

Ghorepani located in the midst of beautiful rhododendron forest where short morning hike takes you at Poon Hill for stunning sunrise over 360° wide angle views of mountains from Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Manaslu range with magnificent Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish Tail peak’. Best Seasons

March to May with Mid September to December months best months for treks when most of the days crystal clear for views, but cold in the morning and night time as well in shades with chances of snow sometimes during autumn and winter seasons.

Where March to May will be lively when wild flowers are in full bloom with sunny days with cloudy late afternoon times.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival day in Kathmandu via various airlines and transfer to hotel

On arrival at Kathmandu international airport received by Life and Journey staff / guide greets you with warm welcome and then transfer into heart of Kathmandu city to your respective hotels.

With time to get refreshed join in for group briefing regarding treks with other useful information as well with do’s and don’ts, includes welcome group dinner in a nice authentic restaurants with cultural program.

Day 2In Kathmandu options for sightseeing tour and trek preparation

Free day in Kathmandu for leisure activities as well for options for a sightseeing tour around the city places of Interest, like Kathmandu and its close other cities steeped with World Heritage Sites, rest of the afternoon preparing for the trek around Annapurna Himalaya.

Day 3Drive to Syange 1,240 m via Besisar 830 m of 6 hrs overland

Morning an interesting long drive leads to Nepal Mid West, journey heads past Besisar town, and then on the dirt road to Khudi, Bhulbhule and Ngadi following the Marysangdi River upstream, the drive continues through rice terraces fields and villages to Syange for over night stop.

Day 4Trek to Dharapani 1,920 m - 05 hours

From Syange slow climb on leaving Marysangdi River behind to reach a farm village of Jagat, from here morning walk leads on gentle winding path to Chamje, and back to the same river, crossing towards forested area, with superb views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges, as walk leads on wide path to a nice village at Tal Besi.
Probably with refreshing lunch break, and then continue walk for 2-3 hours to Dharapani village for overnight stop, Dharapani a nice village situated on the junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking trail.

Day 5Trek to Chame 2,670 m - 05 hours

After Dharapani walk on winding trail within rhododendron and pine forest past Bagarchap and Danque to reach at Timang village, from here onwards into more Buddhist cultural village with views of Mt. Manaslu.
From Timang village few hours trek leads to Koto and then at Chame town for overnight stop, Chame a large and major town of Manang area and as well a head quarter of Manang district.

Day 6Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m - 05 hrs

From here onward air gets much cooler as walk leads closer to mountains, morning walk into dense alpine forest of rhododendron and pine trees, following Masrsyangdi River upstream with short ups and down hills to Bhratang village.

From Bhratang village walk follows uphill through woodland to reach at Dhukure Pokhari a small place with few teahouses and lodge overlooking Chulus and Pisang peak, with a possible lunch stop then walk descends to lower Pisang village for overnight stop.

Day 7 Trek to Manang Village 3,450 m - 05 hrs

Pisang village offers great scenery of mountains and surrounding landscapes, from here altitude gains as the morning walk leads through forest and with a short uphill with super views of staggering Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna Chulu’s and Pisang peak. As the walk reach flat valley at Hongde village, from here onward tree lines disappear for barren, arid landscapes with cold, dry arctic climate.

Before Manang, visit old Braga monastery with old Buddhist relics, ancient wall painting and frescos and stunning views of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour walk reaches at Manang village.
Houses here built in traditional Tibetan style and Manang people are known for their rich cultural and traditions.

Day 8Rest day at Manang for local hikes and acclimatization

A necessary rest day for acclimatization before heading higher elevation to Thorang-la pass, in Manang with options for short hike and to explore Manang village, Manang a large village situated on windswept valley by the bank of Marysangdi River beneath Annapurna and Gangapurna mountain range, a nice walk uphill for views of Gangapurna Glacier and the Manang emerald glacial Lake.

Day 9Trek to Yak Kharka 4,110 m - 04 hours

After a good rest at Manang, morning walk towards Ghunsang village on uphill path to Yak Kharka, interesting high altitude trekking with super view of snowcapped mountains, then crossing a small stream river to reach Yak Kharka, a small settlement with tremendous views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks.

Day 10Trek to Thorang High Camp 4,600 m - 04 hrs

As the walk advances to high area, heading closer to the base of Thorang-la as the walk leads to cross a bridge and then a climb along the river bank of Jarjung, as the walk leads at Thorang Phedi, here depending upon the physical conditions of the clients, if all goes well an hour steep climb to Thorang High Camp for overnight stop.

Day 11Cross Thorang-La 5,416 m and to Muktinath 3,800 m - 07 hrs

Big Day! the highlight of this great adventure, after an early breakfast walk leads to a long climb up to Thorang-la with a steep terrain and winding path to Thorung La Pass at 5,416 m / 17,700 ft.

The highest altitude gain of this adventure it certainly requires a high spirit, strong physically with strong mind to cross over it.

The top offers superb vista of amazing landscapes with snowcapped peaks, from here a long descend to Muktinath at 3,800 m.

On reaching Muktinath for overnight stop, a holy place for both Hindus and Buddhists the word Muktinath literally means ‘the place for Nirvana or Liberation’.

Day 12Drive to Tatopani 1,100 m via Jomsom 2, 715 m - 04 hrs

Since the road been constructed last few years with options from Muktinath to shorten our journey, taking a scenic jeep ride heading down to Kaligandaki River valley past large town of Jomsom.

Journey continues further down following the river downstream reaching warmer low country and through world deepest gorge of Kaligandaki river to reach at sub-tropical place at Tatopani village, a place with natural hot-spring to enjoy after a long days walks and drive.

Day 13Trek to Ghorepani 2,880 m - 06 hrs

After a wonderful time at Tatopani, trek continues crossing a bridge over Kaligandaki River, as walk leads at the junction where route diverts with climb towards steep terraced hillside, dotted with farms and villages.
On reaching gradual trail and into dense alpine forest to Chitre, from here an hour climb brings you at Ghorepani for overnight stop offers views of Mt. Dhaulagiri.
Ghorepani located on high spot, where native are of Poon Magar tribe and famous for Poon Hill a view point offering super wide angle views of world’s three highest peaks and range of other mountains with striking sunrise and sunset.

Day 14Trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,460m -05 hrs

Morning before dawn hike to Poon-Hill at 3,210m, offers striking sunrise views over array of mountains from Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu to Annapurna as far towards Ganesh Himal in far eastern horizon includes Mt. Machhapuchare “The Fish Tail” one of the most respected and unclimbed peak, after a wonderful time walk continues through lovely serene rhododendron forest, the whole area could be a paradise for naturalist and botanical people when the flower in full bloom, trek continues on the gradual trail for a short period, and then a long descend from Ulleri village on the stone paved steps all the way to Tirkhedhunga for last overnight stop in the hills of Annapurna Himalaya.

Day 15Trek to Nayapul 1,100m and drive to Pokhara 860m

After Tirkhedhunga, a short last day walk of this fabulous adventure as the path leads downhill most of the way past many farm villages with views of beautiful waterfalls, then finally reaching to a nice village at Bhirethati by the river Modi, from here a short half hour walk to Nayapul ending our final walk of the great adventure, from here a scenic drive of two hours takes you at scenic Pokhara for overnight stop by its serene Lake Phewa.

Day 16Drive / Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel

Morning after breakfast drive takes you back at Kathmandu, taking about 5-6 hrs on same busy highway back to Kathmandu, during journey observe Nepalese country life within farm villages and town, reaching Kathmandu transfer to hotel with evening free at leisure

Day 17International Departure homeward bound or respective countries

Your last final day in Nepal the country of Himalayan wonders, as per your flight time depart from the hotel, where our guides and staff transfer you for International departure homeward bound or to respective countries.
