Introduction

The Annapurna Base Camp trek gives you an amazing overview of the diversity in the landscape that Annapurna Region has to offer. It is a nice and moderate trek and therefore accessible for almost everyone.

The trekking route passes through interesting villages and terraced farmland, giving you a great insight of how locals live in this area. You will also see rhododendron forests and you will walk over glacier rivers and see fabulous waterfalls. There are spectacular views of sheer cliffs with rivers running below them. When you reach the final destination Annapurna Base Camp, you will be able to get glances of Machapuchhre (also known as Fish Tail), Mount Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I and Annapurna III and many others.

The highest altitude you will reach is 4,130mtr, which is not too high, therefore the chances of altitude sickness are minimal than other famous treks in Nepal.

This trek has included yoga and meditation classes as well. The word ‘Yoga’ is a Sanskrit word that derives from the Sanskrit root ‘Yug’; which means ‘to connect, join or balance’. In Yoga, we join and balance mind, body, and breath. As trekking is quite a challenge for our bodies and since we climb, also a challenge for our breath, yoga really compliments trekking. In yoga, we lengthen and stretch our breath and muscles, which is the exact opposite of what we do whilst being on the trek. To practice yoga and meditation whilst being on a trek is a great way of keeping our minds and bodies ‘fit’ during the trek.
